S/C Questions
OK, I've been searching for quite awhile, and can only get incomplete answers.
I'm buying a S/C Monday.
Questions:
1) This S/C has a 3.25" Pulley, and is a V1. How much hp and psi should I expect with my current mods (Y-Pipe and MEVI)
2)What else do I need to do the install and make sure it's safe and won't blow. oil and tranny cooler, VB Mod, 1 step colder plugs, etc.... How "MUST HAVE" are each of these things? (I'm Auto, obviously)
3)What's the warranty on the Blowers for a SC? Will this warranty transfer over owners? (I'm buying it used)
4)My current track time with 18" TSW's and a speaker box are 16.22. What kind of improvement should I expect?
5)Could this install be done within 1 weekend?
6)What should I watch for after install to be sure things are kosher?
Thanks!
IanS

1) If its tuned right, ~300fwhp
2) 1 step colder plugs! Oil cooler is nice but not needed if you live in a climate with mild temps, unless you road race. Auto guys claim VB and Trans Cooler are a must. IMHO, Boost, EGT and Fuel Pressure gauges.
3) Your warenty is expired.
4) With the bling bling and ice still installed mid to low 14's at best. Take off the bling bling and ice an add some slicks to get mid 13's.
5) Yes
6) Biggest thing is oil leaks from the oil return plate.
Lorens kit should be tuned pretty close with the cartech FMU for your car. But since you have the ME/VI you will flow more air after the VI opens, so you will lean out up top. So after you get it hooked up, take it to a dyno with a wide band O2 sensor set up and tune in the cartech FMU. If your car makes a faint wierd ratteling noise under boost in high rpms go to 2 step colder plugs.

Thanks for the answers.
What is "ice"? Pardon me for the lack of knowledge of the latest street slang.
Is it my stereo?
Also, Vortech claims the blower is good for 100,000 miles and the warranty doesn't last over a year for a $5,000 piece of equipment?
Or is it just that it's transfered ownership?
Thanks,
IanS

Ice is refering to your stereo and wheels. I don't think the warranty transfer's ownership, and I know if you go below a certain pulley size it also voids the warranty. A good dyno shop is going to be a MUST have for ya...
I'm sooooooooooooo jealous.

I'm sooooooooooooo jealous.
