wierd auto se question

alrighty kids, i have a question regaurding the auto max's

occasionally it's hard to get it to go from park to reverse, to drive, or anything else in general, but other times its smooth as silk.

is there a bind somewhere that can be straightend out? or is it just nissan's way of saying "we don't have a clue what we're doing"

anyone else's max do this?

or is it just the two 4g's in the garage that do it

Re: wierd auto se question

When you park on a slight incline or decline and the car rolls forward or backward after putting it into park, you get a slight "jerk" when engaging drive. If you want to avoid this, when you pull into your parking spot, with your foot still on the brake, engage the handbrake, then put the car into park. This will eliminate the "roll" after engaging park and allow smooth engagement of drive next time you use your car...btw the camry i had before this max did the same thing

that didn't help me much

anyways
to elaborate more into this subject

it will do it either hot or cold, flat ground or on a hill.

when it is hard to get into gear, there is a "clunk" noise to be heard as well.

the tranny shifts fine {too damn slow for my tastes, but ok for mom}

i just figured id ask, maybe its just freak maxima's then

hey vin, when you reply to a post, besure to type something, instead of nothing at all.

This is normal. It's just the weight of the car resting on the gears, making it difficult to take out of park. The way to avoid this is as follows: When you're parking your car push the brake pedal down, put the transmission into park, but BEFORE you let off of the brake pedal pull the e-brake, then release the brake pedal. This prevents the cars weight from resting on the gears. When you go to drive off, push the brake pedal, put the car into "D", "R", etc..., now with your foot still on the brake pedal release the e-brake, take your foot off the brake pedal and drive away. Hope this helps.
