138 on a back road. Every bump made my car feel like it was going to fly into the grass fields on either side. I was pretty damn stupid. When you're going that fast, 5 feet from the ditch, you're either an idiot or ballsy. I was an idiot, cuz I won't do it again... Scary!

Car was stock, 97 SE 5spd.

Uh, perhaps that's 220 Kmh?? In US measurements that would be ~137 mph.

had it up to about 130 on a straight stretch...ran out of road quickly though...maybe could have squeezed out a few more MPH.

140+ MPH! today no b.s. at about 1am. I was driving home and some dumb a$$ just got on the freeway with his high beam lights on. He was driving like that for good 5 miles Then he hit it hard and flew by me, I looked at that car and guess what, it was M5, so I hit it too and turned my high beam lights on

,it was my turn

It was awesome!
MAX was awesome and handled perfect at that speed!
I guess my upgraded suspension did its job very well.

I hit 138 on a long straightaway. After I installed my CAI I went for a drive late at night. (No cars on the road) It was a little scary at that speed. Not gonna do that again anytime soon. well, except for my girlfriend's father 2002 Corvette Z06...whatta beast of a car

No, it's a tie with me for the 120 spot. Which BTW I hit for the first time last night racing some Mazda MX6 with a hugh fart muffler on it. I heard him take off 2 cars in front of me, open hwy, I said no way, this guy needs a lesson on performance. It was dusk, my Purple HID's came up on him so quick, then a quick walk around him and I was gone.

That just felt soooo good to do.

107, in 3rd gear. i had plenty of head room, but only soo much you can do on a 55mph road (2x the limit is reckless endangerment.)
also i was only planning for over 100.
i am running stock wheels + crap tires.

1st -> 35mph shift
2nd -> 85mph shift
3rd -> havent got there yet.
4th -> haven't hit it yet, atleast when 3rd isnt an option

I did 146 on my Garmin GPS last year with intake, y-pipe, and cat-back....it had a little more...but I was coming up on some traffic REALLY fast.

I'll bet the ME VI helps A LOT with the top speed of a 4th gen.

ok im gonna post this cause noone else did..Please dont speed on a highway or interstate..First of all you can lose control of your car no matter how good of a driver you are and 2nd of all you should attend a trial where kids go over 120 and get caught and see what happens to them. you cant outrun a radio.

A little less than 140mph in an engine-wise stock 98 SE 5spd.

As a side note. I had the front hood rip off a 85 Dodge Lancer turbo at around 120mph when the latch failed. It DESTROYED the windshield, smashed the roof and destabilized the car. Almost ruined my day.

Be real, real careful where you do speed runs. No traffic. Sunny, two lane divided highway with at least 3-4 miles visible, pref. with armco barriers on each side (keeps deer and pigs off the road). Hit a deer or moose at 140mph and you're paste....

In the max, I've only had a boring 115. (I have to go pretty far out of my way now to do a high-speed test....during a completely clear, sunny day, on the right stretch of road).

Sad that my current driving high speed is held by my old 91 Integra LS...completely stock, getting deep in the redline in 5th on a slight downhill, with the speedo reading a sliver above 130mph. I dunno if I'd want to take the floaty max to 130

so what car is it that you have named Max??

btw...i topped at 125mph...stock suspension and stock wheels kinda make it floaty

You must have that special dash no one else has, since our speedo only goes up to 140mph...
