how do you install a shift boot?

I just got a shift boot, and I looked at the one on my car, and it has that frame on the bottom. Do I need to take it appart and get that frame? Also do I have to remove the **** to install it?

Is the shift boot stock or aftermarket? If aftermarket, what brand?

You have the remove whole panel between both fron sits and attach it from the inside. I hope it helps

I have a MOMO boot. I removed the **** so that the shift boot would slide off. I removed the frame from the old boot and put it on the MOMO boot by sowing it on at the bottom of the boot. I also have a MOMO **** so it screwed onto the boot. What kind do you have? Boot and ****?

Remove shift **** by turning it. righty tighty, lefty loosy? remove plastic panel around stick CAREFULLY. Take out old boot. Sewn into the boot is a metal ring rectangle shaped. Remove this from the old boot and use it to hold in new boot.

put back together...

Yeah...first you take off the shift **** (Be very careful no to tear the leather on the ****; when turning it with just my hands the thing still ripped and I then I could take some pliers to the plastic part underneath the leather and get it off. I think the best tool would be that strap wrench that Sears advertises, or any strap wrench for that matter.) Then just pull up on the trim and it pops right off. Good luck w/ the shifter...it cost me 60 bucks.

I duct taped the boot to the bottom of my panel. I'm using the stock gle woodtrim piece with the stock se boot. It works and hasn't come off yet in 4 months!
