I disagree. I have the stock gle woodtrim in my car with 5spd transmission. The hole is a little bit smaller but is still sufficient. I have had no problems whatsoever.

You MUST have cutup or removed the PRND part of the shiftr console piece. If not, how in the world do you get into 3rd AND 5th gear?

My original SE had an AFTERMARKET wood trim and it went bad. So i replaced the one around the deck with an i30 woodrain. couldnt find any 5speed woodgrain and was thinking to get an auto woodgrain.
can you please take some pics so we all can look at it? thanks

I seem both 5spd and auto trim at the same time and it seems to be the same size opening.

The opening is not the same size. The auto one is slightly smaller, maybe 3/4 of an inch in terms of width of the hole.
