raced a 2k1 max!!!!!

i have 97 auto max with intake, y-pipe and catback. he had a 2k1 5spd. we raced until about 90 on the street and i was at about the back door of his car. i was suprised i hung with him because i have to have at least an extra 100lbs+ in my car with junk. he told me his car was stock. what are those cars running stock???

they have 222. I don't know why you weren't mov'n in on him though. I went up against a 5th gen completely stock with lead weights as rims and had results like yours. Now that i'm Y pipe -n- toys, I was running with close times as my friends 2k2 auto.

Wrong dude...

2001 Anniversary Edition SE has 227.

*ALL* other 2000 & 2001 Maximas have 222 (this includes GXE, GLE, and SE).

Also, the 2002 has 255, Altima has 240.

FYI

Also you gotta look at the power to weight ratio which makes a buig deal in speed. The 4th gen maximas weigh about 3050lbs @ 190. The 5th gen has 222 and weighs 3300lbs so it ends up being about the same. I raced a 2k1 5spd and smoked him on the highway. We came to a light after we got off the highway and lined up.. I took him the whole way down for about 1/8 mile. I only had an intake at the time 2, so beating a 2k1 max is not too hard. Now a 2k2 max is a different story.....

The '99 should take him up to 80MpH or so.
