- I've been looking at every thread I could find on exhaust systems and I'm confused. Here are a few questions:
1. What is the difference between a "Y-pipe" and a "header" - I thought they were the same thing.
2. Does a catback include a muffler, or is it just a pipe?
3. What is a B-pipe?
4. I've heard yes and no, but can a 2000 variable flow muffler fit on a 4th gen ('95-'96)?
5. What is the basic anatomy of an exhaust? What does the exhaust flow through from start to finish?
- Thanks for any help you all can provide. I apologize in advance for the worn-in question. ;-)

FAQ you!!

You haven't tried the maxima.org FAQ yet.

BTW when someone says FAQ you! Don't take it personally, it's just a clever quip.

- Sorry. I'll head there right now. But what does "BTW" mean? Or is that in the FAQ's too?

Funny, Jeff! I think a few people need to get FAQ'd!

When you come across an unfamiliar acronym, try
http://www.utd.edu/ir/tcs/techsupp/acronyms.html#Y

You'll find BTW there, and lots of others, such as
TANSTAAFL - There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch
IIRC - If I Recall Correctly
FWIW - For What It's Worth
IMHO - In My Humble Opinion
... and this famous one ...
RTFM - Read The F*****g Manual

- You guys are my heroes. Where else can I combine two of the best things in life: cars and witty rhetoric. Thanks for all the advice, patience, and nifty acronyms.
- Here's one of my own for all the weak 4-banger Ricers that I destroy at the Grand Prix du Stoplight: MMIFTY (My Maxima Is Faster Than Yours).
