type r?

hey guys,
i was wondering, how well would we (4th gen STOCK 5spd maxima) do against a stock type r? i mean, i read the stats. were supposed to do 0-60 in like 6.7 and type r's do them in like 6.9-7.1. our 1/4 miles are a bit faster as well. but in real life, are we truly faster? has anyone raced one b4?

Hi,
I raced a standard and I have an automatic. My car only has the K&N filter which adds only about 4HP and I kept up with him up until we hit 60 MPH. He got a little ahead but I didn't wat to drive like a total idiot so I slowed down at 70. After this I know they are very close and if you race it with a standard I'm sure you will win. BTW, I have a 97.
Thanks,
Paul

If the ITR guy knows how to drive well, he should kill be able to kill an auto Maxima and probably still beat a 5spd Maxima.

A properly driven stock ITR would kill any stock 4th gen 5spd or auto in any contest of speed.

I'm not the greatest driver but I tend to stay at 15.0 and below

With a good driver, ITRs run low 14s. I remember seeing in a magazine that they ran 14.1 with the ITR. They are fast!! JsL
