OEM fog light install problem, help!

I was installing the oem fogs on my 97 gxe today...I got the passenger side(right) to go in and everythign matched and its fine. But when i went to do the driverside(left) it didn't line up well. I put in the braket as usual to the 3 holes. Right away i saw that the braket is standing akward...so i just went ahead and put int he fog lense itself...screwed it...but then i looked at it and it looked wierd as hell the way it was attached. towards the edge of the bumper(right most) there was a gap, and on the left side of the lamp there was a gap as well to where i would screw in the 2 screws but it was very tight and the gap was small. I tried putting in that last plastic black piece and it would not fit because gap was too small.

I tried repositioning many ways, i tried looking at the other side fog but it seemed that the braket wasn't being positioned the way its supposed to. Either the wholes weren't drilled in right places or the braket wasn't made right.

Has anyone else had this problem?!?!?

here are the pics:
this is Passenger side(good side):

i think pics would help alot here. I just did the fog install, i didnt really have any fitment problems. How did u put the braket in? did u do u remove the fender and stuff? I dont really know what to tell you. Try taking the other lamp apart and redo it, sometimes u find that you missed something so easy

It sorta looks like u never put in the prong on the side of the actual lens that goes into the braket. Look from the backside(from under the car) and make sure u have that little divet placed properly

no, i did put in the prong.
mY fog light itself fits on the bracket perfectly....the problem is that the bracket isn't sitting in the fog light whole where it should be.

I really do not understand why it's like that. I'd like to have a look though... Maybe we can meet up tomorrow or tuesday if i am done with my school work.

It should fit without problems.

Only logical explanation i can think of, is... u suspect that the car was in an accident where the front end was repaired.. possibly they didn't fix it right and the bumper doesn't line up how it should.. in this case, you may have to reposition the fog light bracket, it won't line up with the holes but it will stand.. use something else to attach it or drill new holes... this really sucks.

-FIXED!!!-

me and steve(NYCe MaXiMa) took a look at my left side fog, we realized that the problem was that the wholes that were drilled in the bumper where off. So we carefully measured/tested out where the wholes should be, and then drilled new wholes in the black fog light bracket. First try was a charm, as the fog light fit nearly perfectly...can't even notice difference.

Looks great, thanks again bro~!~
