Oh brother!! You have a feature I would kill for and you don't even know what it is. Wanna trade visors? Seriously though, read your owner's manual. It is a home-link siystem where you can program garage/gate door codes into it.

Man this sucks. My model has it, and my dad owns a 2001 Infiniti I-30t, and it has the 3 buttons, but according to him, it doesn't work on our garage system, for some reason. I might take some time and investigate, because I am more electronicly literate compared to him.

i park in a public garage that can be opened with a remote control after hours.
We tried programming his Homelink into it...no luck.
Any ideas why?

i have a 95 gxe, is it possible to have the homelink feature incorporated into my car's visor? - or if i goto the junk yard and swap my visor with a later model - would it work, or is there sumthing more complicated behind it?

I have a rolling code garage door opener and the homelink in my car works. But then I have a 99 and I think I read on this forum that the 98 and 99s have the new Homelink which is rolling code capable.
. Good for me
. Works like a charm and even has a longer range the remote they gave me for my opener.

It can't be incorporated but buying '97+ visors should not be a problem. I was going to look into this eventually as well. But I have too many things on my immediate mod list.

Exactly. I'm just guessing but I'm sure two, three wires max. I would look in my FSM but it's a '96. You have a GXE, do GXEs have lighted vanity mirrors? If so, I'm sure you can tap in there.

Does anybody who has the homelink want to trade them for my visors plus either money or one of the many items I have in the garage? (Intrax springs, silver PR CAI, '95/'96 Stillen front and rear ground effects, etc.?). Needs to be in gray (but I think all are).

Max_Gator is right it works with any garage door opener even ones with rotating codes. You may need to push a button or fiddle with your garage door opening mechanism to get it to work. I "taught" mine ot open my door with oner button, mother in laws with another and my annoying neighbor with the third. I waiting till he opened his garage door one day and taught my car its code. Was hysterical when he'd leave for work and I would hit the button and make his garage door go back up...

All you need is a set of maxima visors with the homelink and you can swap them out. The homelink uses the wires that go to the lighted mirror for power. I bought a set on ebay some time ago and installed them in my 96.

98 works
I have a 98 and it works with the rolling code homelink door openers. I had to get "special" instructions from an infiniti dealer to get the visor switch to work. If you're really interested, I could go dig them out and post them....
