I had two Polargs burn out and blew a fuse each time it happened. Only one bulb would burn out per side, and I believe the fuse was for the corners and the lights in the side of the tail lights next to the blinkers. My corners are rewired; I don't use shaved bulbs. I went just over a year before blowing the 2 bulbs as well. Now I have had the stock bulbs back in my car for a year with no problems I think I may have been drawing just enough current to blow the fuse and somehow I managed to blow a bulb each time as well. ericdwong mentions this in the MaxFaqs.

i rewired and i got polarG 1157 in there, i believe. or 1156, which ever one is the dual filament. rewire is easy, and i've had no problems and the bulbs look great. i didn't even solder. i jus cut one wire, and spliced it into the other one.

i used a pair of 1157 Cuzo hyper whites (35/5w) and shaved the ****/reversed the bulb and it lasted me from Sept 2001 to March 2002. I think re-wiring my corner lamps caused me to have some problems with blowing a fuse. I think it was the parking lamps fuse, so i changed it from 7.5amps to 10amps and everything went ok.
I have to admit that it really looked cool how bright they were. I think I ****ed off alot of drivers that were beside me at night just cuz they were so bright. In March, one corner bulb just didn't light up anymore, so I replaced it the regular way. I noticed that the burnt out hyper white bulb was extremely dark blue compared to a new hyper white bulb. Now I decided to go back the way it was before and hopefully I won't have to deal with burnt out corner lamp bulbs for awhile. It such a hassle to take that corner lamp off. arghhh. hope this helps!

I rewired mine not to long ago, but i love the end result. Remember to change the fuse from a 7 to a 10.
