consult tool

Does anyone know where I can buy a diagnostic trouble code reader for a 95-99 maxima. I know I can do a self diagnostic, but I'd rather have the tool so it's easier to read the trouble codes. Let me know

Do you have a PDA or laptop available? Or would you need the full scanner?

My friend took his Nissan pickup in for a rough idle problem. When he picked his truck up, he noticed that the dealer had left the consult tool on the floorboard. My friend did the right thing and gave it back. I smacked him.

i have a laptop, where can I get software that will allow me to access the trouble codes and adjust the idle??

The cheapest and best tool that I have seen is at http://www.obd-2.com/ They are $122 for software and cable. I have been told that they should work on the 95 Maxima, as it *IS* OBD 2 complient, but I will find out after I buy mine.

Do you smell a group deal?????

Whoah! He gave it back?!? I heard those consult tools were worth at least $3,000. I envy your friend's honesty, but if Nissan left that in my car, I would consider it to be a gift for all the problems I had with my Max when I first bought it new.
