Short in fuse box ?
Short in fuse box ?
My wife's 1997 Maxima radio went out the other day so I checked the fuses and the one under the hood for audio was blown. When I went to replace it sparks flew and shorted the new fuse before I got it in. I than proceeded to check another fuse and it to sparked but did not blow. I than proceeded to unhook the battery to replace the fuse to the audio and when I went to test the radio got nothing again so I checked the fuse and again blown. It sounds like a short from the radio or in the box itself. How do I figure out where the short is and how do I fix. If this is not an easy process what can I expect to pay a shop to fix. Thanks.
Since this is electrical the shop will want a lot for this. I had my ignition fuse that kept on blowing and this was due to my sun roof installation, they cut a wire and just left it there. Try taking out the radio and make sure everything is connected properly. Then make sure none of the wires have their insulation cut. If everything is fine there try hooing up another radio to see if that works (if you have one).
Good Luck,
Paul
