Intake Hoses: Is this one important?
There's two big hoses and one small hose going into the resonator box. One of the big ones is the crankcase breather but i just want to confirm what the other one is. Is it an EGR hose? If so, wouldnt the car run better if (when making my homemade upper tube) I didnt put that hose back on? I know EGR is just for emissions, but I dont need to take my car in to get tested for another 2 years so thats no biggie. Would it throw off the computer if I dont reattach it? .....Or am I totally wrong on what it is? It'd be alot easier and cleaner looking if I didnt have to reconnect it.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yeah, I'm 99.9% sure it has to do w/ your idle control (IAC). I think it may cause your car not to idle correctly if you left it disconnected.
Try this simple test - with the car in it's current configuration, disconnect the hose & start the engine (engine should be warm already). Note the idle, vs. with it connected.
I did the "$15 Upper Intake" project & it looks pretty clean, just the same. (Sorry, no pics - I only have a monitor-top digi-cam & I just can't seem to get my car through the doorway to my room).
