My baby is slammed! She rides good too.

Just finised installing the B&G sport springs. The car is definately lower then H&R's in my current sig pic. I'd say almost cut that gap 1/3 more. It looks totally hot, very even drop too.

The ride with these on AGX's isn't bad either. Smooth on the highway, descent around town too. I'll play with the AGX settings a little in the next few days.

I'll post new pics along with details on the procedure soon. Lime was doing a suspension job this weekend as well. We'll put some stuff together and update the suspension sticky soon.

The car rides good, and very quiet. No spring noise at all, and a new mod to the suspension system which includes a modified gasket we made out of 2mm head gasket material which I believe has made my suspension quieter. Details will be explained in the suspension thread along with pics and the placement of this new gasket.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend to everybody!

Tom

Yes, we made up new gaskets out of headder gasket material approx. 2mm thick. It totally isolates the strut mount from the chasis of the car producing a more quiet ride, both front and rear. This mod works.

More pics

A nice even drop about 1-3/4 of an inch on the B&G springs.

B&G's are GREAT springs. Comfortable, firm ride with great handling, and a LOW drop.

Check my sig, I am riding on B&G's/Stock SE struts.

Thanks

I had about 58k miles back in the winter when we put them on, now I have 65k and they still ride the same. I had the car checked 500 miles ago and there was no sign of leakage. I am using all stock boots, covers, ect. as well.

damn
it looks awesome!

B&G springs are nice. Are those 2 pics comparing H&Rs and B&Gs?

How would you compare the ride comfort between B&Gs and H&Rs?

what type of noise does the gasket get rid of? I took out the red gaskets off the rear and I dont have any extra noise Or does it just get rid of road noise?

Looks really nice Tom. Post some thoughts about how the B&G's and H&R's compare when you get a chance.

Hey, I have had the same setup for a while and I like it but, I think I should have cut my bumpstops. Did you cut yours?

Yeah (like nyce) I'd also like to know the ride compares to H&R.

I ended up getting another used max, 5-speed ( ) with the H&R/AGX combo and man, it is so smooth and very tolerable on jagged roads (and we have A LOT here in the bay area). Not to mention, the Ruby Pearl color is so beautiful...

H&R B&G Comparison

H&R

B&G

There about 1/2 inch or more lower then H&R's. I'd say the ride is about the same. Nice and smooth on the highways, tight around town. Speed bumbs weren't a problem, sharp dips in the road you feel but the AGX's set on 2/3 control them well.

Upgrading the red paper gaskets has definately made my car quieter. This should be a must for anybody doing suspension work. The gasket paper is like 9 bucks and is big enough to do all 4 corners. You can buy sheets of headder gasket material at your local speed shop. It's about 2mm thick and grey in color. Forms a great isolation barrier between the strut mounts and the chassie. The red paper thin gasket Nissan used is a joke. The more isolation between suspension and chassie the quieter the car becomes. This mod works!

Somebody asked about cutting bump stops, no I didn't cut mine. Haven't felt them hit yet and I hit a few hard dips and swells purposely with no notice of comming in contact with them. Actually I like the idea of keeping them the correct size. This will prevent damage to the strut/shock just in case you have full compression of the suspension on a large dip or swell in the road.
