I was on my way to Best Buy yesterday to pick up a PS2 (can't say no at the new price), when I saw a silver Mitsubishi Lancer with a big wing and like 18" wheels. Looks almost like an Evolution, I thought. Then I get closer and see the words Evolution V on the side...I'm thinking, this guy really went all out to make it look like the real thing. Then I notice something...he's driving it on the right side, in our "passenger" seat! It must be the real thing! We were just cruising along at about 40 and he had his window rolled down and I asked him if he wanted to line up at a light somewhere...he said it was his friends' car and he had to take it back to his house...but that it was imported, and was the real thing. We still took off from that speed though, up to about 80, and he had me by a good 4 car lengths. Talk about exclusive! There are more Ferraris than that car, at least here in the U.S. I believe it has about 280 hp, and is essentially like a WRX only more powerful. Sweet car!

 

That's a rare sight! Did they have 280hp back in the V days? If not I'm sure the number wasn't much farther away...

Actually, the Euro Spec Evo's and WRX's both put out in excess of the 280 bhp arbitrary limit. I believe the U.S. Spec WRX has a single Turbo compared to the Euro-Spec Twin Turbo version.
