Still experiencing low idle @ 500 RPM
Still experiencing low idle @ 500 RPM
I am still experiencing low idle at 500 RPM. Changed fuel filter, cleaned TB, IACV, replaced KS (was getting error), replaced PCV valve, replaced air filter. Have not changed spark plugs yet (that will be next). Have I missed anything? I have regained low end HP when I replaced KS and have more high end power. No error codes showing up now except 0505 (which is everything OK). Should I consider changing the ECTS (engine coolant temp sensor)?

Just making sure...have you reset your ECU? When I was fooling around with my homemade upper intake, it started dipping down below 500 at idle, even with everything attached. Then I reset the ECU and it was all back to normal.

You might be right about the coolant sensor...

What about adjusting manually?
Maybe I'm an idiot, but what about simply adjusting the idle manually?
Check out this post about adjusting abnormally high idles - http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....threadid=99586
About a third of the way down, Confused outlines the difference between the idle adjustment and the idle stop screw (apparently a significant issue.) Per him, "The idle adjustment screw is on top of the IAC valve (right rear of the upper intake manifold)." COuldn't you just crank it up a bit?
Good luck,
TOM
