Which O2 Sensor?
Which O2 Sensor?
O.K.
I have engine code 0308 (Unable to obtain closed loop operation (”Left Bank”) Haynes. I wanted to replace the O2 Sensor with a Bosch but which one is for the left bank? They have the following which one is it?
• #13242 O2 sensor located in rear manifold/exhaust pipe. $77.60
• #13246 O2 sensor located in front manifold/exhaust pipe. $176.54
I would like to only buy one of these as you can see the prices.
I would also hate to take it to the dealer and spend Double the $$$.
Thanks

Re: Which O2 Sensor?
This from the great Daniel B. Martin.
"The left cylinder bank is also called the front bank. It is cylinders 2,4,6. "
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....bank+cylinders
Also www.buyoxygensensors.com has some cheaper alternatives. I can't vouch for their quality, but I do know that they require splicing of the 4 wires instead of coming with the OEM clip.
Actually, looking at that post again, is it possible that DBM made a mistake with 0307??? I'd be inclined to reject the Haynes Manual description over that guy
In any case, The left bank is the front.
He says in another thread: "Think of the right and left banks like this. If the engine were mounted with the drivebelts facing forward (like on an inline engine), the left would be the drivers side, the right would be passenger side. Hence, right O2 sensor is the one on the "rear" bank of cylinders on the Maxima. "
