last night i raced a 2001 pontiac sunfire gt sport or what ever they call it, it hd the 2.2 eco-tech dohc. he took me off the line about 2 car lenghts then second i started gaining on him and then third i just started pulling away. i'm 95 auto, K&N air filter, Greddy catback.

2 car lead off da line??? -those things are weak as hell! - i gotta drive them around at my job, i think they're slower than civics

 

I'm sure it was just reaction time as those things should not beat you off the line. You have 2 more cylinders, same weight and much more hp and torque off the line. Practice makes perfect. If you really wanna slaughter one, play with him on the hwy....

 

Are you sure he beat by 2 car lengths after launch? There are several Sunfire GT's on the carlot that I work for. Those cars only have 150 hp with the 2.4 dohc and even if it were a 5-speed, you should've smoked it off the line and never looked back (especially with your mods)!

 

I raced one yesterday, well wasted my gas on one yesterday if you wanted to put it like that. He started it by gunning his car. I guess he just thought I am rice boy with ugly hubcaps and no stillen lip, but thats cool got him from a roll and killed off the redlight. I was somewhat bored too. I was not trying to be a bully he started it.

I think the GT has a bigger engine than the one you rented. . . I know we get the small engine in the cars we rent at Enterprise, although they are really weak.
