insurance on 98 GXE

I just bought mine, and was going to put it under my dad's insurance. I'm 22 with a clean driving record. They quoted him $1400 (which I still think is a lot!) but we got the letter of confirmation: $2400!!! This is just as much as I would've paid having it on my own insurance. I was expecting $1500 at the most! Anyone have any idea what is going on? I live in Colorado btw

Definitely something's wrong here. $2400 is too much for a used Maxima. I'm paying the same amount for the new bmw, and I'm just a year older than you.
Call your insurance agent and ask him/her to break it down for you. Consider switching your insurance company as well.

Yeah, especially since it should be considerably cheaper putting it on my dad's insurance. He's like 55 with a clean record

I'm 24 with a speeding ticket and a "not at fault" accident in the last 3 years. I have a 95 GXE. I pay $1100 per year for more than full coverage with USAA.

I just got married, so that will go way down soon...
