shifting prob

hey... i recently changed my tranny oil in my 5spd with about 70k. it seemed a bit notchy before... and it really hasn't got much better. i got a guy i work with, (a service advisor @ a car dealership and he bracket races, so i trust what he says), to drive my car, and he said my clutch is good for another 20k or so, but he also noticed that my tranny is notchy. this wouldn't bother too much, except for the fact that i miss a gear time to time at the track, kinda embarasing. so should i try using sythetic tranny oil... or is this just a sign of my clutch wearing out? and i don't think it is because of my driving ability...(KingMaxima)... i've been driving a 5spd for a while... i know when something doesn't feel right. thanks in advance for any help...
