Window tinting
I am looking to get tints on my black on black 1995 Maxima SE. The windows are clear right now. I was looking at 5% tints but it seemed too dark. The car is a good black... very immaculate paint. However I don't want to have troubles seeing out of the back at night, if I was to drive through a dark area.
Would 15% tints all around be a better idea? What do some of you guys with black on black cars have for tints? Suggestions appreciated... pics would help.
Thanks.

All though it's illegal in my state I have 20% and love it. I think any darker and I would have a hard time backing up at night. It looks great too. The car looks real crisp w/ the tint. Btw, I too have a 95 black on black, I've also got black rims. Too much

35% or 20%??? I have 35% on my black 98. It looks nice, but I think 205 would have been better looking. If tint is illegal in your area, I would stick with the 35%. If they can see you clearly, it is less likely you will get pulled over. If you'd like to see a pic of my car, send me an email. I will email it to ya.

Ive got 20% tint on my car, I only got pulled over once for the tint and that was recently considering I have had the tint on the car for about 8 months now. 20% is good though, sometimes it can be difficult backing out with my back window so dark in a very dark area

dont get anything less than 5%. You will regret it if you do. Although it sounds dark, anything lighter and you will be able to see perfectly inside. Dont worry about not being able to see outside, when your eyes adjust to it, it seems as if its not even there.

I've got 20% with black on black and it looks great. I agree that any darker and it would be hard to see at night. My mom used to have limo tint (5% I think) on a car they owned in FL and it was impossible to see out the windows at night. Also, I think pure black tint looks best with black/black...the slightly reflective tint looks better on silver cars, especially VWs.

I just got 35% on My 98 Black on Black Max. Its a perfect tint for the car. Because even if you can see thought it, and you can a little bit, its still dark because of the Black Interior. And I dont have trouble at all, seeing at night! Id say 35%. And you know that its mandatory to get your tinted covers for your lisence plates, if you get tint. It just all looks good together!

I got 50% front, 35% back and rear. I have the Platium tint, it's sort of a reflective tint, not really a mirror tint. It's similar to what you see on the Lexus SUV(forgot what it's called).

I have a black on black 96 max. I have 35% in the front and 20% in the rear. I'm glad I went with the combo, I think it is the perfect compromise between looks and avoiding police. I haven't had a hard time looking out at night and so far, knock on wood, no five-O problems. I rewired the corner lights, and that seems to help when looking out the sides.

I've got a 97SE black on black. I have a 20-35-50 back to front blend that looks real nice. Here in cali, it's illegal for fronts to be tinted, but it's a must. I didn't want to go too dark on the sides cause I dont like the flat black, cant see in, cant see out look. However, since the rear window was so large, I wanted to dissapate as much heat as possible, so I went with the 20. Worked out *really* nice although sometimes I wish my front windows were 35 as well. Just go with what you are comfortable with. Personally, I think limo tint is almost tacky. One guy on the board, forget his handle, has a combination smoke tint and platinum tint, it looks extremely nice in the photos I've seen (he also has black 4th gen).
