Old struts and new springs?

Old struts and new springs?
My struts and springs have 150,000 mile on them, is it OK to just replace the springs? I have this annoying squeek coming from the front. Also I don't want to spend too much money on the car. Any other ideas?

Re: Old struts and new springs?
The squeek is probably from the strut. With 150,000 you probably do need new struts. I think the springs are supposed to last the life of the car. Might be a good time to get the KYB AGX and some lowering springs.

spring will last very long, the structs, however, are different. there are also many causes for the sound you describe, please read the "Changing Suspension / Noise from suspension" thread which is on the top of this 4th gen forum. Also, perform a "bounce and rebound" check on your struct (search the forum).
if it is the struct, you don't need to replace the structs with the OEM ones cuz I believe they are expensive (so are all other OEM parts). you can go with KYB GR2 for the stock replacement. KYB AGX are better but more expensive. GR2 will do well for your stock springs.
again, please search, search, and search the forum.
