Knock Sensor on My i30

So the accelaration of my i30 was feeling a little sluggish, and though I had no CEL I decided to check for Knock Sensor problems....did a self diagnosis and it flashed 0304, yup knock sensor and no Check Engine Light.

I am kinda glad, because it is an easy fix.

So I need to buy a knock sensor, and RIOT^ is selling them here on the org for $100. He is in Canada, getting them MUCH cheaper from a Canadian Dealer in Toronto, which is fine with me.

My question is, should the knock sensor from a canadian Maxima work with an american max? I assume it should, just need to know for sure.

Anyone know the part number for the Knock sensor on a 96? Max and I30 I assume are the same.

Anyone purchased from RIOT^ yet? Any feedback?

Well,
RIOT^ says the price went up already by $20

So, Was it Tustin Nissan selling them for $130? At least they might take a credit card for faster shipping....

Knock Sensor from David Barnett for $130....

Just bought a knock sensor from David Barnette in Texas for $130.
He will UPS it today! YIP YIP!

At $10 more than the RIOT^ guy would sell it for, but this I did with my credit card, and it shipped today, so worth the extra dough.

Wow, I cannot beleive how helpful David was, and how nice! I will buy other parts from him if I have the need!

I got mine from MaximaRacer (Stanley Mak) for $112 shipped! Had to wait a couple of weeks but I could wait... I guess Stan is officially the cheapest source.

I just called David back, and bought NGK Platinums for $52 and he tossed them in with the Knock sensor for no additional shipping.

I didn't want to wait weeks, and getting more than one item shipped is nice. Also, don't underestimate buying from a dealer, warranty will be in effect and DaveB is so good that if anything was up, he would take care of it immediately!

I just replaced the KS in my 95 Max. Got it from nissanparts.cc for $137.00 shipped. Part number 22060-30P00. It really seemed to help with the throttle response and the car seems to be getting a few miles per gallon more than I was used to.

The thing really is fairly easy to replace but don't try it without letting the engine cool for several hours. I learned the hard way. Don't ask...

I fugured that out already....was just checking to see if it was hot!
