what's that little round thing in the engine...

that sits right where the TPS is?

It has some vaccuum hoses attached to it, and when I "floor it"
in the engine bay, this thing seems to "pop" or "click"...

So, what is it? and what does it do?

PLEASE HELP!!! I think that this might be associated with my
stalling problems...

THANKS!

That is the Knudsen Valve.

www.kalecoauto.com has forged ones that last much longer than OEM.

Seriously, you are still going to have to be a bit more descriptive. There are a lot of round things attached to the engine.

sounds like the EGR, which is near the throttle, which is probably what is actually making any type of noise. Is the car running okay? If it's idle is rough, the EGR may be bad, but I'm more used to older cars when it comes to EGR's.

Is it ~1.5" in diameter? Round when you look down on it? Sorta looks like it has a hat on it? Simply drops/snaps into a metal bracket to hold it in place?

Likely, you're talking about the canister purge control valve. It shuts off all evap purging to the engine at high throttle positions (ie WOT). If you're hearing a pop at WOT, you're likely hearing the valve closing, which is the normal operation.

the EGR isn't round....and it isn't on top of the TB like a lot of people think...it's actually hidden BEHIND the manifold...kind of under the TB. The stuff on top of the TB and maninfold is mainly the EVAP system.

According to the Haynes manual, the EGR valve is that black round thing.

The rest of the EGR system (Sensors, etc, etc,) is on the back of the manifold.

I was just reading about this last night in the Haynes manual whil at a bar waiting for friends to show up. I'll post the page #'s when I get home today.
