Rev Matching...before you shift or let out clutch pedal?
Okay I know what rev matching is but do you do it before you move the shifter to the lower gear or just before you release the clutch?
Thanks, just want to make sure I'm shifting right.

It happens so quickly that it's almost all in one fluent movement anyway. I usually make my downshift, give a little gas, and release the clutch. This might not be the exact textbook way, but at this point in its life, I'm not trying to be really careful about the clutch...

well it doesnt really matter as long as the clutch is down. like blizz20oma said, its one fluent movement. think of shifting and rev matching at the same time.

hmmm okay thanks, yeah I was wondering if I should push in clutch, shift, rev match, then let out of clutch or... push in clutch, rev match, shift & let out clutch.

Thanks guys, I'm learning how to drive stick all over again! I learned from my mom when I turned 16 and my 1st car was manual, but after reading all the stuff on here she had me in a lot of bad habits (engine braking, riding clutch, etc.)
