precision of tachometer

hopefully that passes the new subject line rule

i guess this is a stupid post, but how accurate are our tachs? whenever i drive domestic cars, and example my friends turbo eclipse last nite, their tachs always seem sluggish and very delayed, mine(maximas) always seem so fast and precise, is this in my head or has anyone else noticed this? i was just wondering, i heard stock 4th gen flywheels are 17 pounds, cuz you will notice how fast we rev high and how fast it drops down, just general statements, tell me what u think.
