difference between 96 and 97 strut

My rear strut on my 96 GLE are blown. i need to replace it soon. I really don't have alot of money to replace it with a new one. i was thinking about getting some used ones from car-parts.com. i want them as new as possible. I want to know if struts from 97-99 would fit on a 96?

if your going to get some aftermarket cheap shocks from 95-99 is all the same. Now if you go to the dealer the SE shock is a bit stiffer. Why waste money get some KYBS adjustables do it right the first time and save money.

If not stock struts, get the KYB GR-2s. I've heard good things about those too.
