If 3000 GT is turbo, you are toast. If no turbo, could be good. If it's a SL, maxima wins. End of story.

3000GT VR-4... you're gonna get owned. If not, keep in mind that the 3kGT is hella heavy (3800+ lbs.) Just drive well, and good luck

 

As others have said as long as it is not a turbo you will have no problems I held off a SL (sp) with my old VG 5sp.

 

Mitsubishi 3000 GT SL 5-speed will be a very good match for 4th Gen
Maxima.From a stop,it's really hard to launch 5-speed SL.On the free-
way,the SL will walk away from Max,but it's close.My friend's 95 SL with 18 inch rims can get up to 140mph in 4th gear.
Also,normally aspirated 3000 GT don't weight 3800lbs.It's 3,400lbs
for SL and 3,200lbs for the Base model.Hope this helps.

you will kill him, those cars do have 222hp but they are heavier than a max. 5speed vs 5speed you will walk him from any point, plus the fact that you have a CAI just gives some xtra insurance that you will kill him the SL in 3000GT SL is an abreviation for SLOW!!

Hate to be a pesimist, but with out a Y pipe? I've seen stock SL's pull low 15's. I think it will be a good race, but the victory will go to the better driver.

 

yes you have seen them pull off low 15's, but i have also seen maximas pull off like a 14.7 stock. a lot kids around my town drive SL's cuz they cant afford a vr-4 and just like the look and the average 5speed does like mid 15's, but i will agree with you on the fact taht the better driver could definatly win this race
