I have a 96 Maxima Se and I am just purchased a Stillen Hi-Flow Intake. I am interested in getting it installed. I have been unable to locate a performance store in NY that works on Maximas. If anyone has any suggestions or know of any it would greatly be appreciated.

Bring it to a regular mechanic...after all

is comes with instructions. Mechanically inclined friend could do that for you also...Stillen rates it at one wrench (easy)..

Good luck.

Claws and Eastern don't do installation works, they only sell the stuff.
The best bet is to diy or find a fellow max owner that's willing to help. It's tough to find a shop to do those works, you don't really want those gas station shop to do it, your job is too small to ask a big shop...

DIY

Woodear is right, this mod is very simple and should take an inexperienced person 30 minutes or less to do. It's not worth paying to have this done.

Hey Dude, honestly, it is so freaking easy to install the Stillen intake. You need a decent rachet set and a few screw drivers. Basically you remove like 4 nuts and a few screws to take the box out then the Stillen fits right into place and basically just reattach the hardware and two sensors. Trust me I'm no mechanic but this is EXTEMELY EASY. I did it myself because I don't trust many mechanics to be as detailed as myself. It's an easy Saturday afternoon project. If you feel comfortable changing the air filter element then this is not that much more than that.

Fellow Maxima owner put the install that intake yourself. Working on your car can be very rewarding. Go to your local hardware store and get a decent set of sockets and a ratchet and get busy. I recently rewired my fog lights on Saturday and already I've received a compliment from another Maxima owner. Dont be afraid get under your hood I promise she wont bite you.

If you still want to know about a good shop...

Try Vinny Ten's Performance Factory. They don't specifically work on Maximas, but you can bet they'd do a heck of a good job on one...

Do you know where Vinny Ten's Performance Factory is located. I met him once, he had just finished draggging his Supra. (et: 8.71!!!) He's pretty cool, had a really good attitude toward a young rider like myself. Wouldn't mind checking out his shop. After one look at his ride you know they've got to know something over there.

P.S: For all you speed freaks out there Vinny said his Supra dynoed at 900+ horsepower. All turbo, no NOS.

Performance Factory
34-11 64th Street
Woodside, NY 11377
(718) 429-3773
To get work done ask for JC or Vinny. Just so you know I heard they are booked solid so it may take you a while to get anything done. I've had work done there and they do great work and even washed my car for me before I picked it up.

They do good work no doubt but it's not too easy to get an appointment, especially for a small job like intake. They are always busy hooking up Supra's and likes.
