holy crap, i just spent the last few hours trying to get my rear pads on... correctly. who the !uck designed such a crappy piston / caliper setup. i know it has to be a little different b/c of the Ebrake... but come on. i had a 1990 supra... rear was just like the front.. easy to change. and even the fronts are easy on the Max... it took less than 30 min to do a few months ago.
does the tool that is supposed to turn the piston make it that much easier?? all of my knuckles are cut up now b/c those things are so hard to turn. sorry.. don't mean to *****.. just venting. but for those that have done this, did you have a really hard time?

 

The rears are harder to do than the front, but a pair of needle nose pliers made turning the piston easy. I just wish the rear calipers lifted up more.

I did mine and it was pretty easy. Just use a large enough C-clamp to push the piston in - you don't really have to rotate the piston (per Nissan's instructions.)

 

i thought the rears were hard too, until i bought the special tool to rotate the piston.. it costs like 5 bucks at the auto parts store and is definetely worth getting. it looks like a little cube, just ask them for a piston rotating tool.
