Which Nissan???!!

Ok, so I went to the Nissan dealer around here. My dad works as Parts manager at a Chrysler dealer, so the salesman had heard of him and said that he could work me a deal. Sould I get a 98 or 99 SE? Is it the se 5 spd that can come with the leather seats? also, are the engines in the 4th gens diffrent between the GXE, GLE, and SE models like in the 3rd gens? Which would be a better pick? I will be trading in my 92 SE auto. He also told me he could get me a real good deal on the 2002 SE-R 6spd. So which car would be a better pick?? There's not too much stuff out for the se-r yet, but I really like the max's. What do you guys think i should do? I think that if i got the se-r i could possibly put r33 tails and headlights on it and get an r33 bodykit too. But anyways, which do you guys think would be a better pick? Mainly looking for performance. Lem me know. Thanks!

In my opinion i'd go with the Maxima since there are alot more performance parts for it, and it is reliable as well. the SE-R isnt too bad, but its a 4 cylinder and you cant get as much outta them as a 6. also, all trim models have the same engine....its in the FAQ...

thanks

sorry bout the faq thing. I'll go read them now, i'm just new to the 4th gens. The reason i'm switching from the 3rd gen to the 4th is really because of the opportunity to make them faster. There are just more parts available for the 4th gens on the aftermarket. So there is no change between the 98 and 99 at all? if so is either max better? thanks again.

uh, to my knowledge, there is pretty much no difference between the 97-99. get the one that appeals to you more (ie. options, sunroof, ect..) and im not sure about the 997-99, but the 95 SE's came with the white guages and body colored dorry handles......MY OPINION is too go with the one with lower miles, and SE.
