mzmtg - I don't run with it on all the time. When she's clean and I want to show her off I put it on. When I take trips it's always on. Keeps the paint on the front end from getting chipped up. I also have the 1/2 mask which covers only the hood portion. I use that around town more then the full mask. I'm glad to say the paint on my hood is still flawless! Not a single chip.
