I just installed mine, which I bought on ebay. It's easy....each strut has three bolts. Looking at the strut bar, you can see the two end pieces(black). You just take off the three nuts, slide the strut bar end piece over the bolts, and put the nuts back on. Once you have the two end pieces mounted, the bar goes between them. It's really easy. When you look at it you will see how simple it is. Check out this link. It will show you how to do it.

To install a FSTB, don't you just line up the 3 bolts on each mount to the top of your strut housings and bolt them in? I don't think any bar includes directions on how to do that.

Don't forget that the 3 nuts on the strut mounts should only be torqued to 35 - 40 Ft. Lbs. Don't over torque them or you can damage the strut mount.

Go to your local auto parts store. Or Pepboys/Autozone or something like that. Most parts stores should have a rent-a-tool program.

Put down a deposit, use a tool, return it, get your deposit back.

Or better yet, just spend the $20 for a torque wrench.

And it's scary that you've never torqued down anything you've put in your car.

hmmm ebay!!

I ordered mine on ebay to about a week an a day ago, from "autobacs" has anyone else ordered one from them? I mean i know most fstb are the same and your basically only paying for the sticker on it. Just curious, also where the hell did you see a torque wrench for 20 bux? maybe its just me and the autozone here but they are a little more than that. Aside from that with the fstb, if you over torque or don't use enough, you run the risk of rub off, or whatever you wannt call it basically to loose and the job it is supposed to do wont work to its full potential, and to tight and you might rip the bolts on the strut mounts taking a fast turn or something, which seems highly unlikely, but it has happened.

I bought a cost effective tourque wrench for $15.00. It is cheaper in quality but it is better than guessing. It has this pointer that when you turn the wrench, it points to the LBS.

Well worth the $$$.

Fine, fine ... it was $24.

A cheap torque wrench is better than no torque wrench.

Lefty and Clee130 are right on. You don't need to get an expensive torque wrench, you just need to get one. They'll save you a lot of headache from busting bolts, and knuckles, from overtightening. I think I have the same one as Lefty... $20 is approx 13.3 gallons of gas, which is approx 259 miles in my car, which in 30 days is 8.6 miles/day, oh hell, less than a buck a day for 30 days will get you one.

hehe, must just stick the bolts in by hand with some superglue on the threads, or better yet, duct tape 'em in

Where can you get one of these? Wherever you can buy tools. Or you could use the search function on here.

Ebay seller

"btnz" is a good guy to deal with. Easy install for his FSTB, it's generic and $32 shipped. It's on mine and a very noticeable difference in handling. I can't justify the extra $100 for the stillen bar other than to support a .org member trying to sell them either personally or as a business.

those torque specifications from the factory were carefully designed and tested by the top auto engineers in the world . although the factory always trying to find a way to reduce the cost, finding the correct torque is not one of them. without the correct torque, there is no quality in the car. never know when something gonna break or even someone gonna die cuz the wheel fall off. it's like Geo vs. Toyota. by the way, does anybody know toyota use $100,000 (or $10,000) liquid torque wrench or something? that's what I saw in the toyota ad in the mag. but it's just an ad.

I got my torque wrench from autozone for $18.95. and not those you see in haynes (with a pointer or something) it's adjust from the bottom by turning the ***. I guess the place I live has a lower living cost.
