Question for every one

Is 4th generation is easy to steal. If some one breaks the window does the alarm go off, does the factory security system disables the vehicle so car won't start. Thanks guys

The alarm doesn't go off when the side glass is broken. The alarm trips when the thief's hand reaches in and opens the door from the inside.
I found out the hard way when my car got broken into in my office underground parking. The thief panicked when the horn started blaring away. I was the fifth and last car that got broken into before the thief fled the scene. The stupid thing is that I didn't have anything out in the open that looked enticing to a thief. Maybe it was my car looked too good to pass up? Go figure...

If you dont have an aftermarket alarm, I could steal your car with my eyes closed. Not that I steal cars. Its just that mine was almost stolen, but multilock saved it. I didn't think it would be that easy for them.

If a profession thief wants your car, it doesn't matter what security system you have in it, he gets it!

I regard factory alarms on mid-priced common vehicles such as these, especially in the 90s, as more of a selling point than a theft deterrant. If I parked outside, I'd probably get an aftermarket alarm.

There's always insurance.

So would it be difficult for a shop to install an aftermarket alarm in one of our Maximas that already has the factory security system?

Would they take out the factory system or would they install the new alarm and not even touch the factory one?

nah man- its not hard at all - they will leave the old alarm in there and probably program one remote to control both alarms. BTW - low jack can be bypassed - one of my friends knows how to......no names mentioned........ one thing i always wondered......if you take the car underground, will it still be detected?

When i bought my car, the original owner had an aftermarket alarm
and they didnt touch the original one but i just turned it off on the valet switch because theres no trunk release and just bought a couple of original remote for the maxima in ebay for $25.

Just like the njmaxseltd said If they are going to take your car
it doesnt matter what alarm you have they can figure it out
It slow them down abit

Okay that sounds good.

I have trunk pop with my Nissan factory options. Would they be able to wire the Nissan trunk pop module to the aftermarket alarm so that I can have it all on one remote?

Also, would they replace the Nissan flashy security light with theirs or would they integrate it entirely into the Nissan stuff?

They do have a after market alarm that has trunk release and they would put their own LED just make sure you tell them do touch the
stock alarm..
