Sunroof Problem

My sunroof seems to be off the track at the back right corner. It stuck about half way open and I had to use the manual crank and pull on the front edge to get it closed. The dealer says $1300 bucks (CAD) to replace it. AGGGGHHH! I don't want to replace it, I want to fix it. Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks,
Steve

is anything broken or has something just come loose and it is offtrack. if nothing is broken, i would guess you could just take it apart... might have to take out your headliner to reach everything if it is halfway open/closed. but that quote seems really high.

No, thats what I heard too. My Max is doing that too. There's two cables up in there and the part that pulls the window tends to break off apparently. I too have the same problem. I also heard that the dealer wants from 1400 to 1800 to do it. Said the only way that they can get the parts for it is to get a whole kit that has all the parts. sounds about right for a dealer. I'm gonna look around at the sound install shops around here and see if someone can do it for less. Anyone here gets it fixed for under 1400, let us know! Also, I had heard that if you want to do it yourself you _will_ have to remove the headliner. Sheesh....
(for more, do a search on "sunroof" like I did.)

Yeah, that's what they told me. They had to order a whole new refrigerator because the light bulb was burned out. I like the idea of checking with a sound shop. Those guys know how to take out a headliner and put it back in right. If I tried it myself I'd probably screw it up taking it out and it damn sure wouldn't look right when I tried to put it back. The dealer suggested a auto glass repair place but the guy I talked to there said the same thing the dealer said "had to order the whole thing to get the one little part you need".

I don't really want to spend a lot of money as I'm selling the car. Wanna buy it?
Thanks
Steve
