ABS light On, how to fix it.
I wrecked my Car about 3 months ago and had it put back together by a good body shop in Town. It needed LF suspension pieces, but no brake parts. Ever since the wreck the ABS light has been on. They don't know how to fix it and its not covered since they didn't replace the sensor. They said take it to the dealer and let them deal with it. I will take it to Coutesy if I have to, but I thought I would ask if I could do it myself! Where is the sensor (And what does it look like) so I can try and fix the problem myself.... Or give me other ideas on how to reset it if at all possible!
Thanks guys and have a good day!
Kevin
P.S. Parents just ordered a 2003 Titaniumn edition, but something tells me that my Father will be driving it the most, prob because its a 6-speed and mom doesn't know how to drive stick! (Wonder if he did that on purpose? )

Re: ABS light On, how to fix it.
Kevin, you need to do a diagnostics to pull the ABS code.
For a 95 (I believe it should be the same for all):
1) Pop the fuse cover in the lower left dash
2) There is a connector (gray?) on the right side of the fuse block. The connector is a female-type and should have the following profile:
__
..
__
..
..
__
X.
..
__
..
..
__
The dots represent open terminals, the __ indicate divided sections of the connector (notice that there is only 1 row on the top section).
3) The X is the terminal you will need to ground. You can ground it by jabbing a wire in the terminal and securing it to any metal part of your car (negative battery post is my favorite, easiest to clip to).
Now here's what you will have to do:
Drive vehicle for over 20mph for at least 1 minute.
Turn ignition switch to OFF.
Ground the terminal marked X.
Turn ignition swithc to ON, do not press your brake pedal at any time.
After 3.6 seconds, the warning light will start to flash the codes. The code will indicate what is the fault.
Have fun.

Re: Re: ABS light On, how to fix it.
Sorry but the connector diagram appears messed up (effect of non fixed-width fonts).
Copy and paste into Notepad and it'll show up the way it's supposed to.
