? About Struts/Brakes

1. I am in need of upgrading my struts. I have 2" sprint springs along with 18" Montegi mr8's w/ 225/45/18's. What would be the best struts to go with?

2. I have the power slot rotors wit v4 EBC pads up front but want to change the rears over to 300z or something comparible. Any ideas on what I could do. Thank you for any input.

There really is only one strut for the Max especially a lowered Max. The KYB AGX. They are adjustable and are a direct fit replacement. Koni's are also adjustable but are a cartridge only which requires cutting the original strut open to install them. Much bigger PITA.

I haven't upgraded my brakes yet but the kit that eatricezone.com has is probably going to be the one I use when I do. I know the rear rotors and pads are available separately so you might want to look into them.

Hope this helps...

i am also in the market for a strut setup. i have been looking to drop the car for a while but have been doing lots of research before i went with the purchase...my research says KYB AGX is the obvious way to go.

Yep. Along with the H&R's, a FSTB, and a RSB. For me it's the perfect street set-up.

with your H&r's and your KYB AGX set up, if you had 5 people in the car with a trunk of luggage, would the suspension hold up.

I.e. would the rear end sag a lot or bacause it is a stiff supension, would it be ok?

I think ANY suspension would sag a bit with that kind of load but I don't think it is going to be that big of a deal with the H&R/AGX set-up. I read a ton of posts about them before I bought them and thought they would be as soft as the stock springs but they are not. They are not harsh but they are quite a bit firmer than the OE springs. Plus, they are a progressive design which means that the farther they are compressed the firmer they get.

I am going on a road trip with three other people and luggage the second week of next month where I will be driving close to 2,000 miles (Central Florida to West Virginia and back with about 100 miles on the Blue Ridge Parkway just for kicks) so I will be able to give you a much better idea after I get back. All I'm planning to do to get ready is stiffen-up the RSB a little to compensate for the extra weight.

Hey Lefty - I just went to the airport the other day with 3 adults+2 kids. The trunk was completely filled with luggage. I've got Progress/AGXs & the suspension felt fine on the 407ETR/427/409.

ciao bud!
