hood mod?
Hmmmm.... i don't remember seeing the maxima in Fast and the Furious. What kind of "hood mod" was it?? Is it when they open the hood the opposite way (hinges up front and opens from back)?

DON'T THINK IT'S A GOOD IDEA
You may compromise the engineering of the hood action in a front on collision. There are two indentations on under the hood where they are to buckle under impact and avoid shoving into your windshield.

hmm.... well i think the only difference w/ this mod would be the hinges being on the opposite side... other than that i think the indentations would still be functional

Maybe it's just me, but with the hood opening up the oposite way, it looks like it would be a little harder to work on the engine.

actually, i think it'd be easier to work with, since the hood goes striaght up. Oh yea, that maxima in that movie was cool, except for the fact he didn't have a maxima sign on it.

I'm sure it would be easier to reach things in the back, but some things are just more accessible from the front.

There was no Maxima. There was a Minima though. An extremely ugly one at that.

The burnout was likely bleach on the tires. There's no way with only 265hp and a stock pulley he could burn out like that with an Auto without some "assistance".

All the cool exhaust noises and clutch noises (and everything else) was done after the fact, and most of those sounds are reproduced.

Remember, it's a movie.

Put a spark plug in your tailpipe.

Also, the hood on the F&F Maxima is in a similar style to the 280Z's....stock, I believe.

I don’t think that the spark plug will work on a fuel injector cars.

Sure it will. Our cars run rich naturally stock. the small amounts of fuel in the tailpipe get ignited when they pass the sparkplug.

You just need a switch and a source (the battery) to ignite th plug.

Let me borrow your car and I'll show you a burnout

I had a Z buddy of mine tell me he couldn't get his auto NA Z to do a burnout so I hopped in his car and did a 30 second burnout for him. I wish I had that picture...

I have seen modified rx7's shoot flames, not as drastic as F&F but doing it naturally from all that fuel looking for air.
