Low 13s or even better

Has there been a Maxima that has gotten into the 13s or possibly into the 12s? I know a lot of money can make a Max do so but off the top of y'alls' head anyone know? Thanks.

Mardigrasmax has gotten into the 13's so close to the 12's like 13.06 I think.

That's pretty damned fast for a big Nissan sedan! How much juice did he use to get there? Over a 100 shot, right?! If I were to SC my Maxima and do several other mods, What's the potential of getting close to that? Probably more far than near I'd assume.

It doesn't have to take a whole lot of money to have a quick car. I am on a budget.

Any 5 speed max with SC will run in the 13s. Running 12s is a bit harder.

I'd say "just about" any 5 speed max with a SC will run 13's, I know of one that cant. If you want the power to be their all the time get boost. With nitrous you only have the power when the bottle is open and still has juice in it. The real reason I switched from nitrous to boost is so that I can have the power their all the time. I used to hate to be driving around and run into a fast car and think to my self "gee if I only had the bottle ready I could take him", now with the supercharger I just do it

Thanks for the help. It looks like SCing is the best way.

Yes it is.

And from others' experiences you will need one of the following to be in the low 13s / possible high 12s.
1. Supercharged 5spd with many goodies (exhaust, pullies, ECU) (for mid to low 13s).
2. Supercharged 5spd with a small shot of nitrous (for low 13s, high 12s)
3. 5spd with all the goodies and a 100-shot of N2O (for low 13s to possible high 12s)
4. Automatic with a completely machined engine, I30t transmission completely rebuild with LSD, 100 shot of NOS and many of the other goodies (for low 12s)

I think someone needs to do a list of the fastest max's around, kinda like a top 10 and make it into a sticky. Searching doesn't yield any answers w/o hours and hours of reading old threads. Just a thought.

Check out the 1/4 and 1/8 mile forum, and then go into the timeslips forum. Although I'm sure a lot of people don't have scanners to post their slips, there are a lot of times that have been posted. A lot of the questions asked on this thread can be answered there.

Wouldn't a turbo be another good option if you want to keep your gas mileage good? That way you only get boost when you are at WOT, which is what you'd be in when you race. However for city cruising you will be running without any boost and getting good gas mileage too.

Turbos are engaged at midrange RPMs. When crusing you may hear the turbo's whine until the RPMs are lowered which in turn can coke your turbo faster.

I have experience with turbos and they are nice when refined and say, factory installed but other than that a SC would probably be the best bet....unless one could hook up both the SC and the turbo system in unison. That might get a lot of juice and a possible blown engine. Never know...
