Considering a 1995 SE Maxima
Hello,
I'm considering getting a 1995 Maxima SE, and I thought I would ask for suggestions on what to ask the guy who is selling it.
The specifications:
5-speed transmission (stick/clutch (recently replaced))
Gray Cloth Interior
Moon Roof
FSTB/RSB
Recently installed new KYB Adjustable Struts/Shocks
162,000 miles (mostly highway mileage)
Regular Oil changes (Mobil 1 synthetic/ Redline Trans. Fluid)
I've emailed him already and asked about the engine/transmission (he says they haven't given him any problems) and dings/knicks. The thing I'm a worried about is the mileage.
This is my first car purchase, so I'm not sure what I should be asking. Any suggestions?

He shouldnt be asking that much but you may need tranny work soon...he engine is bullet proof....If you have plans to have the car through lets say college and hook it up, spend a few thousand more and get something with around 100K...stick with the 5psd though

-ever wrecked?
-Why you selling?
-Garaged kept?
-Oil has been changed every 3,000 miles? (he will probably lie anyway) but just ask
-Ask him if he minds if you get it checked out by a mechanic
-check the tires, check all things that might need to be replaced
-get it checked out by a mech.
you probably should go with lower mileage car though as the other fella said. Less problems in the long run. But if it's all you can afford then go for it. Nissan is very reliable.

do all of what puremax said, make sure to check it all!! u can never be to careful when spending money. with 162k miles he should'nt be asking more than 6grand for it, but you will need to have the tranny replaced soon, so if u plan on moding your car i would look for something i little lower, like around 105k or even less, u can still get a nice one with pretty good miles for a good price
