trim falling off!!

i'm not exactly sure what it is called, but the gold trim that runs from the front to the back on either side of my 98 max se is falling off, especially around the gas cap. does anyone know how this can be fixed? is there some place i could take it or some way i could remove it completely and how much would that cost? i don't want to spend too much money, and i'd like to keep the trim if possible. thanks.

i think our cars look so much better with it off IMO. i think you can buy that tape or whatever it is at autozone and other car stores. if you want to remove it, there are threads on here about removing. i think all you have to do is get a hair dryer, heat it up, peel it off. also, use some bug and tar remover and then just wax it or wash it really good afterwards and you should be all set.
