Nissan Maxima "racing pipe" ?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1838802710

Can anyone substantiate the claims that this product makes? They claim a gain of 9-16HP on the dyno!

I know what the Y-pipe is. But this is not a y-pipe. Where would this pipe go?

From what I am seeing on the site, it replaces the Catalytic converter, which is a big NO NO if you wanna pass emissions. You are prolly better off getting the ypipe and a performance catalytic converter. Instead of this cuz i don't think you will be able to pass emissions with that str8 thru pipe. Please correct me if i am wrong.

It replaces the Catalytic Converter, as stated onthe bottom of that page, and also the picture shows a small hole where the O2 sensor should be placed....That smells kinda fishy to me- as well as your exhaust after this "mod"...but i dont think the elimination of the CAT will have 9-16HP gains.....as stated in the FAQ (i think it was) that this will have minimal gains, and it is bad for the enviroment...
Also i think this man MIGHT have gotten close to those figures (HP gains) because he was supercharged...and he said his "friend" got like 18HP of sumtin- well i dont believe it- its possible that it could have gains- but IMHO i dont think so....

Guess we posted at the same time- but depending on where the person lives, he wont get emissions test (NY and CA has im sure) but I live in FL, and there are NO emissions tests here...

thats not for real

That pipe has got to be made out of steel! look at the thickness of the pipe! it looks painted w/silver colored spray paint! I would not even think about puting that under my car! what a joke! Looks like the person selling it welded it out of plumbing pipe from home depot or lowes to pass it as some car mod and rip off unsuspecting maxima enthusiasts. Looks like a million pounds. cmon guys, do you actually think its for real? I bet it doesnt even bolt onto our maxs
