after a year ive finally found the problem!!!

i took my y pipe down today and have a 1/2 inch hole where the flex section is... and i'm NOT exagerating. i've never seen anything like this in my life. i dont even think i could get my pinky finger through it. thats pretty sad that such a "reliable" product could do something like this. (cattman) anyway, i'm just glad that i found the problem. i'm probably just gonna take it to a muffler shop this week and let them fix it and make me a b-pipe while its there. thanks to everyone for helping me find my problem.

Actually I'm surprised it took you this long to have a look at the ypipe since many people with the Cattman ypipe had a similar problem with the flex section. Your car should much faster now. JAY25 had a similar problem with his SC Maxima.

No offence, but you'd think that the most expensive y-pipe would perform better than that... Seems as though the best one is the cheapest one too (Budget)

Without seeing pictures of the hole, it is impossible to tell if this hole is due to mfg defect or something like road hazard... Any pics?

its definatly a defect. the inside of the flex looks exactly like the outside, only with a 1/2" hole. i'll get some pics soon and post them. i'm not even going to bother asking catts to fix it, but i'm going to be sure to write a letter to him and send some pics. hopefully he will get this problem corrected for the future buyers.

You and I were talking about just that at the meet. I'm glad he finally found it though. Maybe if we would of held out a little longer I could of gotten a S/C for real cheap....

Glad you found the problem bosco.

The reason why it is a defect and no other y-pipe manufacturer has this problem is because Cattman was the first to pioneer that project. Then all these other y-pipe manufacturers took his y-pipe and based theirs off of his, perfecting every little thing and trying different flex sections. Hence why warpedspeed, budget, and stillen have had no problems so far....

But anyways, glad you found your problem. I told you it could have been that as well a while back too.....

Of course I'm relentless w/ my car. Those that baby their's might not ever have problems.

The Y pipe problem I knew it was your Y pipe your exhaust was barely blowing any air out of it when you turned it on.

let us know how it runs after you get it fixed. sounds like you need to hit the track or dyno now.

btw

nosjaime, when does the track open for us again?
