Windshield wiper water pump not working
I have done several searches about this but only have found problems with the wipers themselfs. I have a problem with my wiper washer. 96GXE I filled the tank on it and it won't work. I hear no pump sound when I try to get water. I checked all of the fuse locations that I know of, but none are marked wiper pump etc. Can anyone please tell me where to begin looking?
Thanks

the problem might be electrical. the chances of your pump is dead is smaller.
check all connections. and make sure all wires are connected to the washer motor. there might be some loose connection. I had this problem for my other car. (I do not know where the motor is in maxima)
if still don't know what's wrong, try get the motor from the junk yard and install it and see if it work (hopefully cost you less than $10). it should be simple, but I've never try on my maxima nor any car. I just kinda look at my old 240SX's motor and THINK is simple.
if above don't work, should be the electrical problem that's not easily checked. anyhow, look at your haynes in autozone for free, and see if you can figure out the diagram at the end of the book.
as far as the fuse, it is fuse 20 for both wiper motor and washer motor (if you have the haynes manual). but I think you check all your fuse.
never take it to the dealer unless you really have to. dealer just gonna charge your credit card. take your time cuz it's only the washer.

The previous owner of my Max had the car sprayed with oil (undercoating for protection agaist salt & crap) for Canadian winters. The oil was oversprayed & deteriorated the washer fluid lines. I basically had a line leak somewhere (that I couldn't find) & needed all the lines swapped out. It cost $8 worth of materials but about $78 of labour!!! I watched the mechanic do some of the work in changing out the lines. He had to take apart the right fender liner amongst other stuff. The job looked like a real PITA.
