rear defroster and hazard backlight problem

my backlights for my rear defroster and hazard buttons have been out for about 6 months now. I've checked every fuse, but no luck...Anyone got any ideas.

Ive had the same problem for about 6 months as well. I think they went out after I installed my head unit, or it could have been after I installed my indiglos, I cant remember. I havent really searched for the problem cuz it doesnt bother me a lot. At night, you dont even know there were suppose to be lights there anyway. If you find a solution, please let me know.

Your backlight bulbs are burnt out ... you can replace them.

You can buy the switch and replace it (about $20 - $30 each I think)

Or

buy RadioShack part # 272-1092C -(#7219 12V Micro Lamps). You have to be very careful when disassembling the switch so you don't break the plastic snap clips that hold it together.

quite simple... pop ure trunk, and if u in the trunk where the taillights are, u'll see a hatch that can be taken out. then u can see the bulb holder, just take it out, replace the bulb, and voila! I suggest u take the fuse for the TAILLIGHT out for saftey because if you don't, you'd be working w/ a live circuit.

You really ought to check ure fuses again... it really sounds like you blew a fuse somewhere.

And how is this related to the backlight on the hazard & def switches?
