ECU Test

I ran an ECU test on my 1995 Nissan Maxima because the Check Engine Light(CEL) was on. I am up with the codes for my problems:

1. EGR System Hi/Lo Flow
2. Intake Air temperature Sensor
3. Knock Sensor

What does each system do?
EGR
Intake air temp. sensor
Knock sensor

How much does it cost, roughly, to replace each?

Do these systems affect performace? I am wondering because I raced a 1989 Acura Legend with more weight, less HP, and less ft. lbs. of torque and lost!! Ahhhhh

One last thing how do I know if my O2 Sensor is shot??

Thx!

Re: ECU Test

1.EGR= exhaust gas recirculation, EGR valve checks and regulates the amount of exhaust/gas mixture and puts some exhaust gases back into the intake manifold to dilute the mixture if need be to reduce combustion temp-this could also be from clogging

2.kinda self explanatory

3.knock sensor adjusts your timing and detects knocks and pinging in your block-yes you want to change it ~$110

--------and yeah they will effect performance
..........to the best of my knowledge
...........a lot more info if you search..........

02 Sensor

I still need to know what the symptoms are for a dead O2 sensor, please.

Those codes would not result from a dead O2 sensor...you'd be getting an O2 sensor code.
