Just a Newbie

Hey everyone just a newbie showing his face. I have a 99 Grey SE 5-Sppeeeeeddddd. Im comming from the VW side and am very impressed by the max's performance. I took it to the track and ran a 10.18 @ 69. So, to say I was pretty happy. Okay, down and dirty I need to know about the lil things. Port and polish? Exh diameter upgrade? Chip (is it worth it and who's better)? Short shifter? And whos has the better one? Plugs/wires? CAMS? I read all about the y-pipes and what not. Thanks again.

Re: Just a Newbie

Welcome! If your impressed by your 10.1@69, just wait till you get completely used to your max, i ran a 9.6@73(?) stock. As for ECUs, nothin on the market that will show us gains like some of them VWs, really not worth getting. STS, get a pacesetter, im happy with mine, others are happy with theirs and its reasonably priced. No cams out yet... Just get a y-pipe and a catback, any intake for starters. O yeah, your gonna want to do some supension work, maximas have huge wheel gaps, hich you probably already know. Many people like H&Rs, but i prefer sprint springs, a little lower drop. You should also look into KYB AGX struts. happy modding!

Oh hell, Im not headed in the rice direction, infact the only STICKER that is going to touch my car is a MAXIMA.ORG LIL sticker. It's suprising cause a guy with a Pathfinder told me to put GTR badges on it. AND YES, he did have GTR badges placed on his 2001 path.

If you do put stickers on, you'd better get a good adhesive remover, because unless you're riding around with a bunch of Honduh's, you'll be removing them soon. (Spoken from experience... ) That goes for GTR emblems too...
