My 96 with 2002 rims and drop pictures

A couple of people wanted to see my 96 with the maxspeed drop and 2002 SE rims. The are kind of blurry. Its muggy in Houston and I forgot to wipe off the camera. I'll post "official" pictures of my car after I finish the exhaust and do a few interior things.

Thanks. I'm just going to get the stillen aero kit. Seems to be the only one with good build quality.

That looks really good and clean. How much did you pay for the rims?

I bought Mattatax's 2 month old rims for $325. I think he told me that his insurance had just paid something like $2000 for them after his originals were stolen.

I'm pretty much anti-slam and anti-flossy wheels, and I think that looks great. If I was to lower my max and/or put different wheels on, I'd strive to make it as clean and subtle as that. I'd prolly choose 97-99 SE 5-spokes, but that'd be the only difference.

Nice max!

Looks great!!! Looks stock still! Good choice on rims... but don't ask me why I know. I thought I was special too, one of the first to do 2k2 rims, but people realize 2k2 rims are pretty cool on 4th gen Max and started doing that... Another option which I'm thinking about is 2k2 Altima rims... Saw a pic of it, awesome!!!

Definitely get the Stillen kit!

It doesn't look the same as it did in the Pike vid.

Thanks, I have Nitto NT450 tires on now. The drop is somewhere between 1 inch and 1.75 inches.

any huge difference in handling with the new wheels. I'm running on 16's right now (2000 16in gle). I imagine the 17's help you stick pretty well. also what tire size did you go with? Did you go with 45 series or 50 series? Thanks for posting it's what I was looking for.

Not a problem. Well, I went from 15s to 17s, so the change in handling was very noticable for me. I stick much better now. I'm not sure on the series. I basically had the guy at Discount Tire look up the dimensions I gave him (stock 2002 rim) and I picked the Nitto off the list (cheapest )

Hey, quick question: Did these wheels make your car feel any slower?
If so, how much?

Centers are different.

2000-2001 have a center cap (lugs are covered)
2002-200? lugs are exposed

i believe they are speaking about the 17" wheels. the 2000 SE's had the option of 16" wheels (which i have) and 17" wheels(the ones they are refering to.
