Clicking Noise help me please :(

So im driving home from work yesterday and notice, an od clicking or "clunking" noise not really loud but defintly not the norm. It only seems to happen when I p8sh the accelerator quick, or when i rev the engine. its not a constant noise either if i hold the pedal downa bit and let it sit around 2,000 rpms it doesn't make the noise. its just like a quick little clicck clunk..now to me not know **** about engines, thought it sounded like a rock or something kicking around somewhere it shouldn't be however I have heard the noise before on other cars. Anyone have any idea what this might be? thanks.

EDIT: actually, if you can think of the noise a car makes when it stalls or overheats while going a god 40 mph the click clunck noise the pistons make when they suddenyl loose power or whatever, its almost like that noise.

Sounds like engine knock. You could have a bad knock sensor, a common problem.

Pull the codes from your ECU, and see if you get code 0304...

A bad knock sensor will not cause the check engine light to come on, but if you get the code it's bad...
